Working on my first short story in quite a while. It feels like going back to my roots, but at the same time I'm so in the mindset of novel-writing that it's also tricky going back to short form. I have to keep reminding myself to stay on track and not get bogged down in too many details, or dialogue.
I've had this story in my head for a while, so I'm glad to finally get it down. Once it's ready I'll shop it around to the mags and online zines. It's horror, but horror in theme, not content. I don't believe in gross-out just for its own sake.
OK, enough stalling. Time to get to work!
